Here you can stay 250 meters from Gudenåen in scenic surroundings. The cottage is perfect as a gathering point for a weekend away with several generations or for a week of relaxation for families with children or couples. The house's 88 square meters includes a kitchen and living room in one, an entrance hall with space for coats, a utility room with washer and dryer in one, three good bedrooms and a walk-through room. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking and you can add two extra plates to the dining table if you need to. You can also use tea towels and dishcloths. The house is heated by electricity and a wood-burning stove, and there is always firewood to light the fire. It's a calm and simple decor in muted colors, so you automatically get the peace you need. There are books you're welcome to read and through the large windows you have the chance to spot a squirrel, woodpecker or pheasants that regularly visit the garden. If you want to spot more birds, there are binoculars and a bird encyclopedia for the curious. From the safari chair in the best corner of the living room, you can sit and enjoy the sunset while knitting, reading a good book or playing a board game. Outside you can lounge in the hammock or wicker furniture during the summer months. As the day draws to a close, catch the last rays of the sun from the covered terrace. When it gets really dark, as it does here in the middle of Jutland, you can experience the most amazing starry sky. Here you live the slow life. We are Mette and Claus, and this is our amazing sanctuary and oasis. We bought the cottage while we lived in Cyprus for a number of years to have a place to spend time with our older children when we visited Denmark. So it's a very special place for us, which we're now happy others can experience. There's an amazing tranquillity here at Gudenåen that you don't experience in many other places. When we're here, we always take a trip down to the bathing jetty at Gudenåen, feel it and see how high the water is. But if we were to recommend something others should do while they're here, it would be to go and eat at Svostrup Kro. It's like stepping into a time warp and you can walk all the way there along Gudenåen.
